Compose
Individual 2: Big Idea 2 (100%, 10 points)
So you were in love with your first idea? Don’t be too sad to turn away, because it was just one draw from your creative urn. Move forward, don’t look back, and focus on the how of quickly creating a concept from start to finish. As did your first, your second proposal should encapsulate the fundamental elements of problem, solution, and the difference it makes. Call it a seed that you can easily plant in the minds of an audience, and if they are interested they will help you to make it grow. If they don’t like a concept, no big loss, because you can reimagine it or move on to the next big idea.

Figure 28: Can’t plate before you cook. Can’t cook before you gather!
Concepts like “armature” from this week’s async will give you some new ideas about achieving better flow through the beginning, middle, and end of your concept proposal. Feel free to play with storytelling as you finish another draft of your second big idea, but don’t feel a need to completely revamp your submission. Instead, use the advice of your peers to balance out your content and to make sure you aren’t obviously missing a critical piece of the puzzle. It’s ok to feel like you are still gathering and spreading the ingredients out on the table.
In addition to submitting your concept draft, open up the index.Rmd
file in your repo and replace the hipster ipsum for your first and second idea with a 100-200 word abstract for each. That is your full idea in a handful of sentences! It’s tricky, but very helpful when you get it right. This is something you’ll rewrite a lot, but give it your best shot because it will likely be the first (and possibly last!) impression a consumer has of your work.
How to submit
Submit by commiting your changes to 02.Rmd
to your remote, just as we did in week 5.
Review
Participation 2: Peer Review 2 (66%, 3 points)
Welcome to another round of peer review. What should your interlocutors keep, cut, rearrange, or add to strengthen their compositions? Reflect on what you thought was (and wasn’t) helpful about the feedback you gave and received last time. Aim to be more incisive and helpful this round.
